Maastricht is a municipality as well as a town located towards the southeastern part of Netherlands. In the province of Limburg it is the capital city. The place is situated on either side of the Meuse river where it is joined by the Jeker River. It was developed from the settlement of Belgic in the history. This was conquered by the Romans during the Gallic wars and hence it came into being a Roman settlement to a religious place, a garrison city as well as an early industrial place. Today, it is famous particularly for being a cultured city consisting of the local folklore as well as for education.
